After 4 months of the Coronavirus and the vortex that followed, there are now more controversies about the virus than when it was first reported January in Wuham,China.
As the morass gets more twisted there is still a lack of clarity on who qualifies for testing, for instance.
In Africa for example, government reels out the number of treated cases without naming the medications while announcing on radio,tv and other media that the “virus is real and it has no cure”.
WHO announced in late May that there were “now seven to eight “top” candidates vying for a vaccine”. Tedros Adhanom, head of the agency, said that a vaccine wasn’t expected until 12 to 18 months. And now the magic :$10 billion . Sceptics take a big breathe.
Oh,they exclaim , it is all about money after all!! That kind of thing.
Dr Tedros also wants to
“Make sure that this vaccine reaches everyone — (and) there’s no one be left behind “.
Oh yea? They ask again ! Left behind !Was it all about vaccines ?
And in America, New York Governor, Andrew Cuomo, became a Covid expert with active help from Chris, his brother over at CNN. The nursing home deaths are a sore point.
And in America again, Omniscient Dr Anthony Fauci who has served since Ronald Reagan acted like he dealt with pandemics all his life. He knew all the answers .But he didn’t.
Case in point ?
Fauci: “Serious consequences if we open up too quickly.”
And a week later? Just before the riots ?
Fauci : “Extended stay at home orders can cause irreparable damage “.
Really ?What is one to believe ?
Enter WHO again after the US draw the financial carpet from under them.
“WHO to resume chloroquine coronavirus clinical trials”!
Oh, Trump was right all along ?
And yet WHO appearing as salespeople to China:
“Locally-made face masks don’t fully protect against COVID-19 – WHO”
Has it occurred to WHO that all mask are locally made in the country of production ?
And then came George Floyd and the #Riots, #BlackLivesMatter.
Someone tweeted “So thousands can attend George Floyd’s funeral but you can’t attend your relatives’?”
And now that thousands troop the streets, loot and all, without WHO or Fauci raising hell, was Covid about politics ?
As some not so-conspiratorial theories put it” Is it all about Novermber 3 and Trump? Unfortunately, the US Democratic party gives vibes daily in a manner that answers the above questions in the affirmative.
And Nigeria ?
Its Covid Taskforce which doubles as a government announced May that the
“Federal Capital Territory, FCT as well as Lagos, Ogun, Kano, Kaduna and Sokoto states will take part in the “solidarity trials”, an international clinical trial to help find a cure for COVID-19 being spearheaded by the WHO”. And pray tell, with what drugs?
Oh, and Lagos(the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria) to begin treatment with, yes, Chloroquine. You know ,Donald Trump’s quack remedy that was going to put millions at risk? That’s right. It is now safe only that you can’t get them anymore. What with India hoarding them.
Yet again ,WHO:
“80% of Nigeria’s 200 million people risk contracting COVID-19 ― Wambebe, WHO consultant-“.
And wait for this !
“Tanzania free of Coronavirus,” President John Magufuli announced Sunday.
Weeks before that Mr Magufuli practically told the WHO to take a walk. He has also said that the figures from John Hopkins University are manipulated and the crisis, “exaggerated”.
“I want to thank Tanzanians of all faiths. We have been praying and fasting for God to save us from the pandemic that has afflicted our country and the world. But God has answered us.
“I believe, and I’m certain that many Tanzanians believe, that the corona disease has been eliminated by God,” he told worshippers on Sunday in Dodoma.
And there is the Madagascar “Miracle drug” that has somehow been able to stop the virus and deaths in the tiny Island.
These discrepancies raise more questions about the credibility of the WHO and the pandemic itself.
In Africa, more than 95% of the population either believes the entire arrangement is a scam or it is a tool designed to re-colonize them.
About the genuineness of the fight against Covid or the nature of the virus itself, Africans used to be uncertain but now they are only unsure.
